Understanding and Using Journal Metrics
Journal metrics can help readers and authors decide whether a publication is a suitable venue for their work. However, no single metric can fully represent the quality or impact of a journal.
Each indicator has limits and should never be interpreted in isolation. Metrics should support qualitative evaluation rather than replace it. We recommend considering them alongside the journal's aims, scope, readership, and previously published content.
In addition, each article should be judged on its own scholarly value, not only on the reputation or performance of the journal where it appears.
About These Metrics
Usage and acceptance data are based on the latest complete calendar year and are typically refreshed annually. Speed-related data can be updated on a rolling basis, while citation indicators may be refreshed later in the year depending on source availability.
