This article examines the utilization of lexical units as phraseological expressions within economic discourse, with a particular focus on entrepreneurship. It investigates phraseological expressions commonly encountered in texts pertaining to entrepreneurial activities, analyzing their lexical-semantic structure, stylistic features, and communicative functions. Additionally, the article elucidates the role of these phraseologisms in conveying economic concepts and articulating ideas in a vivid and persuasive manner.
The research article aims to identify translation methods based on the linguistic characteristics of lexical units associated with entrepreneurship in both English and Uzbek. The study’s objectives include highlighting the extent to which lexical units in the field of entrepreneurship have been theoretically examined in linguistics; identifying their linguistic features from both diachronic and synchronic perspectives; and uncovering the derivational aspects of terms in this field, including their formation through affixal, morphemic-morphological, lexical-semantic, functional-semantic, and syntactic methods. The research employs descriptive, comparativetypological (contrastive), diachronic and synchronic, componential analysis, semantic field analysis, and linguo-statistical methods.
The scientific novelty of this article lies in substantiating the figurative use of entrepreneurial lexical units in spoken language, their role in individuals’ lives, their use in the economy, and the presence of phraseological units in this domain. According to research findings, phraseological units in economic discourse convey more emotional, expressive, and figurative meaning than ordinary lexical items. They enrich economic texts stylistically and facilitate clear expression of various situations in economic activity. Their usage is particularly effective in communicative speech, mass media, and advertising texts.
In conclusion, phraseological units are an integral component of the language of entrepreneurship. They not only enhance the aesthetic capacity of language in expressing economic thought but also render communication more straightforward, comprehensible, and impactful. This, in turn, contributes to the distinctiveness and development of economic language and underscores the relevance of studying them in applied linguistics.
