This article is grounded in contemporary scientific research and the work of scientists, focusing on the significance of artificial intelligence (AI) in scientific research processes. The capability of AI to efficiently analyze collected data and derive new insights is instrumental in broadening the scope of human understanding in research endeavors. In this context, AI plays a crucial role not only in generating scientific outcomes but also in the systematization, automation, and advancement of scientific methodologies.
This article investigates the role and significance of artificial intelligence (AI) in scientific research, offering examples of its application across various disciplines. It assesses the impact of AI on contemporary scientific methodologies and the novel opportunities it has generated for researchers. To achieve this, the study utilized descriptive-analytical and comparative methods, alongside a comprehensive content analysis of secondary sources derived from scientific literature, to evaluate the role of AI in scientific research. The importance of AI in both the natural and social sciences, as well as its contribution to the examination of diverse processes and experimental work, is underscored as a crucial support in the execution of statistical data analysis.
The role of AI in the social sciences, particularly in disciplines such as sociology and psychology, is also noteworthy. However, it is important to acknowledge that, alongside its benefits, AI presents certain challenges. The continuous reliance on AI capabilities may lead to an overdependence, potentially hindering human initiative. This could result in a diminished capacity for independent thought, as neural activity in the human brain may become increasingly reliant on AI, potentially affecting cognitive development and attention control. Therefore, it is essential to establish standards and guidelines for the use of AI tools, delineating the scope of their application.
