Abstract

This study aims to determine the poetical traits of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur's lyrical legacy and investigate how his rhyme scheme influenced Turkic rhyme theory. The essence and technique of representation determine a poet's proficiency in classical literature. Thus, one characteristic of classical poetry is the coherence of form and content. Specifically, this idea forms the basis of Babur's poetical approach. To convey his artistic meaning, the poet used rhyme. The purpose of the study is to evaluate Babur’s poetical skill and rhyme scheme.
The task of the study is to determine the place of rhyme in the structure of the verse, to study the rhyme system of the poet's lyrics, and to reveal the poet's poetic skill.
The research employs comparative-historical analysis and literary interpretation methods. Babur’s rhyme system is examined in the context of Alisher Navoi and other classical poets’ lyric poetry, revealing their similarities and differences. Artistic analysis and interpretation techniques were applied to demonstrate how the poet’s artistic purpose is reflected in rhyme.
The study resulted in theoretical conclusions regarding the unique features and poetic scope of Babur’s lyrical heritage. It was revealed that rhyme serves as a fundamental poetic element in Babur’s poetry, ensuring both artistic intent and structural integrity. This was demonstrated through textual analysis of individual verses.
The conclusion highlights the significance of rhyme in Babur’s lyrical heritage, emphasizing that his poetic legacy serves as a valuable source for the theoretical foundations of Turkic rhyme. Additionally, the role of radif and ḥajib in his poetry, the classification of rhyme based on various characteristics, and its function as a reflection of the poet’s artistic skill are discussed from a theoretical perspective.
