This article provides a scientific analysis of the role, scope, and prospects of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in modern journalism. The main purpose of the study is to examine the creative, technical, and ethical aspects of AI technologies through the examples of Uzbek and global journalism, and to assess their transformative role in the media environment. The article highlights new trends emerging from the development of digital communications, automation processes in content production, as well as issues related to fact-checking, copyright, and ethical standards.
One of the key issues in journalism today is the effective use of the technical and creative potential of artificial intelligence (AI). Not only simple news articles but also in-depth analytical and scientific papers, as well as photo, video, and audio materials, infographics, and longreads are now being produced with AI assistance. Over the past period, media content created with the involvement of artificial intelligence has entered our national information space and is steadily gaining a firm position there. This clearly shows that local media outlets are actively utilizing the generative capabilities of AI. At present, AI is producing pages, writing press releases, and even preparing newspapers. Necessary graphics are being created for analytical content, and some editorial offices are designing newspaper layouts using AI. It is also being used to produce images and various types of infographics.
The research employs content analysis, comparative analysis, and systematic methods. These approaches made it possible to determine the level of application of AI tools in journalism, as well as their efficiency and risk factors. The findings show that artificial intelligence simplifies the technical processes of journalism, deepens analytical thinking, and increases the responsiveness of mass media. At the same time, it also introduces risks such as information manipulation, algorithmic errors, and the erosion of authorial responsibility.
The article also explores the application of artificial intelligence in journalism education, radio and television broadcasting, online media, and public relations, and provides a scientific analysis of the integration of Uzbekistan’s national media system into global digital processes. In conclusion, the study argues that the use of artificial intelligence in journalism should not be viewed as a replacement for human intellect, but rather as a tool for its enhancement – aimed at fostering creativity, analytical depth, and social responsibility.
