Abstract

This study systematically examines the generic architecture and quantitative-statistical characteristics of Khazoyin ul-maoniy, the comprehensive collection regarded as the principal corpus of Alisher Navo’i’s lyric heritage. The article consists of two parts. The first focuses mainly on statistical analyses of G‘aroyib us-sig‘ar and Navodir ush-shabob and their results, while the second presents general statistical findings for the Badoye ul-vasat and Favoyid ul-kibar divans and Khazoyin ul-maoniy as a whole.
The main aim is to identify patterns in the distribution of lyric genres across the divans, reveal their internal symmetry, and reconsider statistical data from previous textual studies from a contemporary perspective. To achieve this aim, the study systematizes the number of poetic works and bayts in each divan, comparatively examines differences between Professor Hamid Sulaymon’s earlier calculations and the author’s new statistical results, and substantiates the textual and source-based reasons for these discrepancies.
The study employs quantitative-statistical, comparative-historical, and structural methods, together with contemporary approaches such as semantic analysis and the symbolism of colors, at the intersection of literary studies, textual scholarship, and digital humanities. The findings show that the distribution of 3,132 poetic works and 22,445.5 bayts across the four divans follows a consistent artistic and compositional design, reflecting the successive stages of the lyrical hero’s spiritual and moral development. Comparative analysis reveals only a minimal difference of five bayts between the author’s calculations and those recorded by H.Sulaymon, with its objective textual and textual-critical causes substantiated.
In conclusion, Khazoyin ul-maoniy is presented not as a random compilation of poems but as a coherent artistic microcosm constructed with remarkable mathematical precision. The findings provide an important methodological basis for the statistical study of poetic texts in Navo’i scholarship and open new perspectives for deeper research into the architectonics of Navo’i’s lyric poetry.
