Integration of Modern Methods and Technologies in Teaching Translation

Abstract

This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the linguistic and didactic features of written translation, as well as the role of modern pedagogical methods and corpus-based technologies in the development and enhancement of written translation skills. The study substantiates that the process of written translation is not limited to the mere transfer of a text from one language to another; rather, it constitutes a complex cognitive activity that fosters students’ analytical thinking, intercultural competence, genre-specific stylistic awareness, and the ability to select linguistic units appropriately in accordance with context.
The article examines the theoretical foundations and practical applications of several contemporary approaches, including the Inductive Translation Method, Error-Based Teaching Method, Process-Oriented Method, Genre-Based Translation Method, Problem-Based Translation Method, Task-based Translation Method, and the Comparative Corpus Translation Method. It is demonstrated that each of these methods contributes to the development of students’ independent thinking, error-analysis skills, conscious selection of translation strategies, and empirical verification of linguistic choices.
The research findings indicate that a corpus-based approach integrated with interactive teaching methods significantly enhances the effectiveness of written translation instruction, as it enables students to analyze, compare, and draw conclusions based on authentic language data. As a result, the written translation process is organized in a scientifically grounded, systematic, and practice-oriented manner, thereby creating favorable conditions for the formation of stable and sustainable translation competence among learners.
