The aim of this article is to deal with the analysis of research concerning the national- cultural characteristics of phraseologisms with proper names (PwPN). Furthermore, goals, problems and shortcomings are mentioned in various research pertaining to PwPN as a source of the phraseological fund of one or more languages. In the process of research, the main factors of the study of the phraseologisms as linguoculturemes that provide information about their national mentality, lifestyle, national character, customs, traditions, and values are revealed. The author’s final model will be prepared according to the principles of studying PwPNs in the linguocultural aspect.
The main tasks of our research are to determine the degree of studying of PwPNs in the linguocultural aspect; to determine the existing linguistic gaps; to justify the interpretation of PwPNs as one of the linguoculturames, and to shed light on the inextricable connection of phraseology, onomastics and linguoculturology.
Since this article aims at highlighting the level of the study of the problem, descriptive and comparative methods were effectively used in it. Through these methods, we are witnessing the fact, that there are different approaches to the study of PwPNs from the linguocultural perspectives of languages, such approaches based on the linguistic experience and continuous research of the linguist and they have been factors for the highlighted achievements in linguistics.
According to the results observed during the research, PwPNs located at the intersectionof the fields of phraseology, onomastics and linguo-cultural studies have been studied in many languages only within the macro-scale, and the phraseologisms included in the micro-scale layer of these language units and their national-cultural characteristics are not studied much yet. So, this learning point is one of the issues that are still waiting for their solution in linguistics.
